Midface Lift

40’s and older; lifts sagging cheeks, improves and softens lines around the mouth

Midface Lift Facial Plastic Surgery Beverly Hills 1

The midface is the portion of the face that includes the mound of tissue located below the eyes which elevates and becomes more pronounced when we smile.

This area, especially noticeable in children and young adults, tends to flatten as we age and can lead to a deflated, tired look.

Dr. Champagne utilizes a technique that elevates the cheek mound to help restore this area of your face to a more prominent, youthful appearance.

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE?

  • Flattening or hollowing of the cheeks

  • Deep crease (smile line) from the nose to the corner of the mouth

  • Sagging skin of the cheek under the cheekbone

  • Overall good health

  • Non-smoker

  • Realistic goals and expectations

WHAT IS THE RECOVERY?

A midface lift procedure is a surgical process that will typically cause moderate swelling and bruising in the cheeks for several days. There is an incision placed within the hair in the temple region which is closed with surgical clips. These clips are removed after 10 days. Midface lift recovery typically requires 10 to 14 days. While most people are able to resume working in about a week or two, full recovery in terms of the final results of the surgery can be expected over the course of several weeks.

OTHER BENEFICIAL PROCEDURES:

Those patients who undergo a midface lift may also benefit from a lower facelift, browlift and blepharoplasty. Fat transfer can also be performed to help increase the volume of the midface. Other complementary procedures include Botox injections and laser skin resurfacing.
