Fall is the perfect time as it stands between the socially heavy summer months and the upcoming holidays. Continue on to see if you are a good candidate for a facelift procedure - we're always here to help you regain your confidence!

What Is A Facelift?

With a few different options to choose from, a facelift is a procedure that addresses and improves lines and sagging skin of the face including the sides of the mouth and jowls as well as the neck. Depending on where your problem areas are, expert double board-certified facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Jason Champagne, will help you plan the best course of action to alleviate your areas of concern with an individualized treatment plan during a private consultation. Whether you need a midface lift, lower facelift, or a neck lift, Dr. Champagne utilizes a natural tissue layer which he elevates under the skin to help you achieve a refreshed and more youthful look. With this technique, there is no tension placed on the overlying facial skin, and therefore, an operated or “windswept” appearance does not take place.

Who Is A Good Candidate?

Best suited for patients who are 40 and older, good candidates are those who have issues with sagging jowls, loose neck skin, an ill-defined jaw line, or deep facial wrinkles. They should also be in overall good health, a non-smoker and someone who has realistic goals and expectations.

What Is The Recovery?

The facelift healing and recovery period ranges between 2 to 4 weeks, again, perfect to get done this fall before the upcoming holiday season. Generalized facial swelling and bruising is expected, and swelling diminishes over the first two weeks. Bruising can last up to 4 weeks but can be disguised with makeup. A formal compression dressing is worn for 24 hours followed by a thinner elastic, compressive bandage for the first seven days. The compressive headband is then worn nightly for the next two weeks.
