Lip enhancement is often associated with Filler Injections which can help give your lips a fuller and more balanced appearance, but whether inherited or due to aging and gravity, an elongated and/or thin upper lip can also be improved with a lip lift. Individuals with an elongated upper lip often lack an appropriate amount of tooth-show when they smile, and those with a thin upper lip often desire more visibility of the pink lip tissue.
The lip lift procedure shortens the upper lip and allows the pink portion of the lip as well as your upper teeth to be more visible giving you the ability to better show off your smile.
As a standalone procedure, a lip lift is performed in our office. Double board certified facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Jason Champagne, creates a small, well-hidden incision placed just below the nose in the natural curvature where the nostrils meet the skin of the upper lip. No bandages are necessary, and care for the incision site requires only antibacterial ointment while sutures are in place. Swelling is minimal, bruising is extremely rare, and small sutures are removed after seven days. Mineral makeup can then be used to camouflage any remaining discoloration while the incision site continues to fade.
A lip lift can also be enhanced and paired with Filler Injections to help fill in problem areas to help balance the symmetry of your lips and mouth, giving your face an overall, more aesthetically pleasing appearance.
