If you've ever been self-conscious of the way your hairline frames your face, there is an option that you may be unaware of that can help divert attention away from your forehead. The hairline lowering procedure not only reframes your face, it also helps make for a more attractive appearance by calling less attention to the upper third of your face; the area that can make you look disproportionate and make it seem like you are experiencing hair loss.

What is it?
Hairline lowering, also known as forehead reduction or hairline advancement, is both effective and efficient at lowering the height of the hairline, giving you a natural, more symmetrical facial aesthetic. This is accomplished by surgically removing an area of the forehead while utilizing the scalp's laxity to advance, on average, 3000 follicular hair units at one time (by using the single stage hairline lowering procedure) down towards the brows to give you a more proportioned face.
Do I need to get a Hairline Lowering Procedure?
The average hairline begins 5 to 6.5 centimeters above the brows and has many shapes and designs that cross over the forehead. A good candidate for the hairline lowering procedure is someone who may be embarrassed by the size of their forehead causing them to be self-conscious and/or constantly wears a hat or styles their hair in such a way as to hide it. These candidates include women with a naturally high hairline or large forehead who otherwise have thick hair and no personal or familial history of hair loss. Men with a high hairline or large forehead can also be good candidates for hairline lowering surgery if they have a thick hairline and no personal or family history of hair loss.
